On April 26, the Sensex ended 609.28 points lower at 73,730.16, down by 0.82 percent, while the Nifty closed down 150.30 points at 22,420, a decrease of 0.67 percent.
US MARKETS
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 153.86 points, or 0.40 percent, closing at 38,239.66. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 surged 51.54 points, or 1.02 percent, reaching 5,099.96, and the Nasdaq Composite rose by 316.14 points, or 2.03 percent, ending at 15,927.90.
ASIAN MARKETS
Asian markets rallied on Monday as investors turned their attention to the upcoming Federal Reserve meeting this week, spurred by yet another higher-than-anticipated US inflation figure reported on Friday.
OIL & GAS UPDATES:
In early Asian trading on Monday, oil prices declined, reversing Friday's gains, as US inflation data dampened hopes for imminent interest rate cuts and strengthened the dollar, which impacts oil demand negatively.
Brent crude futures dropped by 75 cents, or 0.84 percent, to $88.75 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures fell by 65 cents, or 0.78 percent, to $83.20 a barrel.
